Frok, Gonk, Crog, and Other Grok Spellings

The assistant’s name is Grok, from xAI, at grok.com. It is one syllable. The keyboard neighbors of G, R, O, and K produce a pile of near-misses that still deserve a straight answer, because the person on the other side of the typo wants the login, the price, or the video tool. This page maps the misses. It does not create extra products.

Frok, crog, agrok, goark, crock

Frok swaps G for F, a miss hit on the left of the key. Crog drops a letter and keeps the end. Agrok and goark add a vowel or swap the opening. Crock is the same neighborhood, sometimes typed with a stray character after it. If that is what you meant, you want Grok. Start at login if you need the app, price if you need SuperGrok, and video if you need Imagine. None of these spellings has its own client, its own plan, or its own API.

Gonk

Gonk is the loudest miss in the set. Some of that traffic is a typo for Grok. Some of it is other uses of the word, including older pop-culture names. If you meant the chatbot that makes images and videos and sells SuperGrok, you meant Grok. If a page under the gonk spelling asks you to install an APK or connect a wallet, leave. Grok’s install paths are the ones in the download guide: the website, the App Store, and Google Play.

Groq is not Grok

Groq ends in q. It is an inference company with its own hardware and API. Groq AI free, as a search, often mixes the two. Grok’s free tier is the $0 plan on x.ai/pricing, with limits. Groq’s free tier, if they offer one, is on Groq’s site and bills differently. The logos are different. The logo guide tells you not to swap them. Developers feel this mix-up when a sample uses api.groq.com in one tutorial and api.x.ai in another. Read the host before you paste a key. A Grok key will not authenticate on Groq, and the reverse is also true.

Grow AI and Brock

Grow AI is a phrase, not a Grok mode. People type it next to Grok because “grow” and “grok” sit together in autocomplete. If you want the assistant, drop the phrase and open grok.com. Brock AI chat is another neighbor: a different spelling that searchers use when the session they wanted was Grok. There is no Brock mode inside SuperGrok. Unhinged mode is the personality people sometimes mean when they describe a blunter chat, and it is still Grok.

A short test

• Does the URL say grok.com or x.ai? Then it is the assistant.
• Does it say groq.com? Then it is the other company.
• Does an ad offer unlimited frok, a gonk APK, or a token? Close it. See news for the crypto claim, which is also a no.
• Do you need the price? Use the plans page, not a typo domain that copies the layout.

What to do after you land on the right name

Once you know the word is Grok, pick the job. Account access is login. A Windows or Android install is download. A monthly price is the plan page. A clip is Imagine video. A repository is the CLI. Groq deserves a second look if you are a developer. Their API and xAI’s API both attract “free AI” queries. The free Grok plan is documented on x.ai/pricing as $0 with limits. It is not a Groq credit. If a code sample sets a base URL, that URL is the product. api.x.ai is xAI. A groq.com host is the other firm. Paste the key only into the matching host. A leaked key in a screenshot is already a problem. A leaked key sent to the wrong host is a worse one.

Grow AI and Brock do not unlock a hidden Grok tier. If a video title uses those phrases and then shows a Grok screen, the creator is riding autocomplete. Follow the steps only when they match an official page. Unhinged mode is the real personality switch. It is spelled correctly inside the app, or it is not there until you update.
