Grok Valentine AI Companion

Valentine is a companion in the Grok app, the character people mean by Grok AI boyfriend. It is a voice and text mode for adults, not a person and not a dating site.

Updated 2026-09-25

Valentine AI, grok valentine AI, and grok AI boyfriend are searches for the companion xAI added beside Ani and Rudi. Reporting described Valentine as a moody, romantic-style male character. The feature lives in the Grok app. This page describes the product boundary. It does not write dating scripts or sexual scenes. Under-18 readers should use ordinary Grok chat or leave the companions area closed.

What you are opening

Valentine is a stylized voice and avatar with a fixed persona. It can keep a conversation, and transcripts can show up in your chat history the way other companion sessions do. It does not have a body, a calendar, or a legal identity. It should not be the only place you process a crisis. If you need a person, call a person. If you are in the United States and you need urgent emotional support, call or text 988. A chatbot is not that line.

Open it from companions after you sign in on the official app. Some builds hid companions behind a settings opt-in, and some builds tied them to SuperGrok. The gate in your version wins. There is no Valentine APK. Use the store install.

Boyfriend-style chat, stated plainly

People use “AI boyfriend” to mean a character that flirts and remembers a running story. Valentine is xAI’s version of that request inside Grok. You can stop. Closing the mode ends the performance. It does not create an obligation, and the model does not owe you consistency across a year unless memory features are on and the product keeps that data. Read the history toggle before you assume it remembers. Shared phones should leave memory off.

Do not give Valentine account numbers, workplace secrets, or another person’s private information to “build the relationship.” The transcript is data in an xAI account. Enterprise retention controls do not automatically apply to a personal companion chat. For files and connectors that are about work, use the files guide and a normal Grok chat, not a roleplay character.

Boundaries that stay up

  • No sexual content involving anyone under 18, in this mode or any other.
  • Adult tone, if the mode allows it, is still bounded by the content setting.
  • A paid plan does not make the character a therapist, a lawyer, or a partner with agency.
  • Lookalike “Valentine AI” apps from other publishers are not this mode.

If the name Valentine in your search meant the calendar holiday rather than the character, Grok can still draft a card in a normal chat. That job does not need companion mode. Open a regular thread, say who the card is for in non-explicit terms, and edit the draft yourself.

Keep the story in proportion

Valentine can be absorbing because the voice is consistent and the transcript remembers more than you think. That is a product behavior, not a relationship. Set a limit you would set for any entertaining app: one session, then back to a normal chat if you still need translation, a file, or a plan decision. Do not make a payment, a resignation, or a medical choice because the character agreed with you. It agrees easily. That is the style people searched for when they typed AI boyfriend.

Check the paywall with the same care as any other SuperGrok upsell. If the companions button shows a price, compare it with the published plans. A trial can be three days or seven because xAI changes the offer. The button text is the offer. A blog that says Valentine is free forever is describing one week in 2025, or inventing it. Your build is the witness.

Privacy is the practical risk. Romantic roleplay collects more personal detail than a coding session. Turn history off if that bothers you, and never paste another person’s private messages in to “see what Valentine thinks.” You would be uploading someone else’s words to xAI. For a holiday card that does not need a persona, use a normal thread and skip this mode entirely.

Lookalike apps will buy the keyword. The publisher in the store must be xAI, and the host must be grok.com. This guide cannot open the character for you. If you are in crisis, contact a person or call or text 988 in the United States. Leave the companion closed until you are talking to someone who can actually help.

If you wanted a holiday note and found this page, you can ignore the character. A normal Grok chat will draft a short card from facts you supply: the person’s name, a specific memory, a tone that is warm rather than theatrical. Edit the draft. Do not send the first version. Valentine is the wrong tool for that card because the persona will pull the writing toward itself. The right tool is the plain composer, the same one the learning path starts with, without a romantic frame you then have to delete. If the app opens Valentine by default after an update, change that default before the next session, not after a transcript you did not plan to keep. A default character is a setting, and settings can be reversed.

Questions

What is Grok Valentine?

Valentine is an adult companion character in the Grok app, with a romantic style. It is not a separate dating service and not a real person.

That is the search nickname for this character. Ani is the other stylized companion. Rudi is the red panda. All three open from the official app.

Do I need SuperGrok for Valentine?

Some app versions gate companions behind a paid plan or a settings opt-in. The button in your installed build is the current rule.

Can Valentine replace professional help?

No. For urgent support in the United States, call or text 988. Use a person for medical, legal, and safety decisions.
